Nick Garrett

Nick Garrett has played trumpet for the Nidderdale Messiah for 4 years. This year he's decided to take a break from the stress and play the timpani and sing in the chorus. He started learning the cornet aged 7 playing in brass bands and went on to complete 6 courses for the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and as an adult became the principal cornet player of The Harrogate Band when it was in the Championship Section.
 

He plays trumpet in function bands locally and for the last 5 years has been the musical director of The Knaresborough Silver Band where he has helped set up a new training band.
 

He is interim Chief Executive of Wellspring Therapy and Training, a trustee of local charities, on the board of the national Methodist Church and enjoys teaching brass players of all ages.
